How do I disable Windows update?

In this guide, we'll show you how to permanently disable Windows Update.

Follow these steps to disable Windows update:

1. Open Start menu.
2. Enter the Run in the search box and run the program Execute.
3. Enter the "Gpedit.msc" into the text box.
4. Switch to Local Computer Policy> Computer Configuration> Administrative Templates> Windows Components.
5. In the folder Windows Components double click on Windows Update.
6. Find Configuring automatic updates on the right side and double click on it.
7. Get "Disabled" and press Apply.
